Getting the Correct Moving Insurance

Easy and Stressless Furniture Removals is not licensed to sell furniture removal or storage insurance to our customers. We are professional removalists who will take every care with your furniture, however, as we are only human, accidents can happen.

We do guarantee our workmanship and we acknowledge the Trade Practices Act, which means if we damage it we will fix it, however we cannot guarantee internal workings of electrical appliances, self-assembled furniture, boxes not packed by us, pot plants and fragile items (glass etc.) not packaged properly.

Your general household contents insurance may not cover your goods whilst in transit or storage, so it is in your best interest to inquire about this prior to your move. Be sure to ask what you are covered for as most insurance companies don’t cover you for boxes not packed by a professional packer or electrical items.

For your own piece of mind, we strongly recommend to take out transit insurance for interstate and international moving.

If your goods are in storage for a period of time, it is also advisable to take out insurance for your goods whilst in storage. Prior to putting your goods into storage, contact your household contents insurance company, to find out if your goods are covered whilst in storage. If they are not covered, they may offer an additional premium to cover your goods in storage. While most storage facilities are safe and secure, you probably won’t be insured against accidents and damage caused by fires, explosions, malicious damage, floods, storms and other natural disasters.
